According to reports in this week's Autosport Magazine Mika Hakkinen has split with his long-time manager Keke Rosberg. The Finn's reasons for leaving Rosberg is that he feels now that he is not racing this season he is capable of handling his own affairs and does not feel the need for a manager.
Hakkinen has taken a year out of Formula One this season to spend time with his wife and young son, and this move has fuelled speculation that he will not be returning to Formula One when the year comes to an end. However Rosberg, a former F1 champion, has been quick to deny that this split means Hakkinen has decided to call it quits and in fact added that the paperwork for the two-time world champion to return to F1 is already in place.
Hakkinen said: "Now is the time to move on and I am prepared to handle all my affairs. Keke has given me hard but fair guidance throughout my career, and I doubt I would have been so successful without him."
Rosberg added: "I wish Mika all the best for the future and I feel that I have fulfilled my part of the job. Even the contracts with McLaren concerning his possible return are complete. It's been a privilege to work with a true champion."

Hmmzzzz,
Is dit een geweldige aanwijzing dat Hakkinnen nooit meer terugkeerd?!? Kan me moeilijk voorstellen dat Hakkinnen zelf een nieuw contract gaat bediscussiëren bij Ron Dennis.
