2 teamgenoten zien vechten is toch prachtig!
The victory in Germany may have been another double delight for Ducati dream boy Troy Bayliss - but the result will forever be tainted.
Bayliss wins twice
The world champion again produced an astonishing display to claim both races on Sunday.
But when team-mate Ruben Xaus passed him - only to be immediately ordered to slow down - it cut through the very heart of Superbikes.
In race two Xaus claimed the lead, but his pit board with Bayliss's name was held out effectively ordering the Spaniard - who eventually finished third - to cool it.
After the race Xaus denied seeing the signal and it was obvious that Bayliss knew nothing about it.
Bayliss does not need any help to come home first
Indeed, as soon as the Australian was told about the incident he quickly stormed off to discover what had occurred.
Superbikes has always prided itself on been "real" racing and to see such an incident is devastating for the sport and its fans.
Granted, Xaus can be a loose cannon - we saw him take Pierfrancesco Chilli out earlier in the season.
But I can think of nothing better than seeing him in a battle with Bayliss - who is after all a true racer.
We are seeing a legend here and Troy is going to go down in the history books
Bayliss certainly looked unimpressed by the decision to hold Xaus back and it is not surprising.
The act lowers the standard of Superbikes to that of Formula One - which I for one find disgraceful.
I am sure F1 teams have their reasons, but the recent controversy surrounding Ferrari brought nothing but shame on one of the world's great sports.
And now - midway through the season - is Superbikes to go the same way?
Lausitz is already an unpopular circuit because of its size and lack of atmosphere, so to see any glimpse of brilliance taken away is ridiculous.
Biking genius
And, in any case, I think Bayliss would have won the race.
The man is clearly a genius on a bike - a legend in our midst - and is going to go down in the history books.
He is supposed to be going to MotoGP next year and is the number one candidate to ride for Ducati, who launched their new bike two weeks ago.
The problem? He does not want to go.
That is obviously not good news for Colin Edwards, who is in the form of his life.
Edwards has finished on the podium in 13 out of the 14 races this season and it is simply amazing that he is not winning the championship.
But what is equally amazing is that Superbikes would even entertain the idea of following F1 down an already controversial route.
Superbikes is a real sport, full of real racers - let's hope it stays that way.
