Jan Lammers and Val Hillebrand claimed victory in the FIA Sportscar Championship round at Magny-Cours in their Dome
The differing strategies of the Racing for Holland squad and the Pescarolo Sport Courage, in addition to the hard fought battles in SR2, kept the interest alive. The lead lurched between the Dome and Pescarolo Sport's Courage throughout the race. After Lammers' final stop he was 10 seconds behind Jean-Christophe Boullion but the Pescarolo team had one more stop to make. It was a fast splash and dash on lap 92 but they had clutch problems and lost about 20 seconds.
Lammers' took the flag just 41.9 seconds ahead of Boullion, but the finish would have been even closer had the Pescarolo Courage not been delayed in the pits.
