Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone is conspicious by his absence in The Sunday Times pay list after topping it last year.
In 2001 Ecclestone was estimated by the newspaper to have earned £788m, while F1 Paddock Club boss Paddy McNally was equal fifth with £50m. But neither have been included in this year's top 500, published yesterday.
Businessman Philip Green tops this year's list, having earned £157.7m. The highest motorsport-related entry is former touring car ace Frank Sytner, who made £26.668m after selling off his successful car dealership business earlier this year.
Dropped Jaguar driver Eddie Irvine is the highest contemporary motorsport name in the list in equal 95th with £7m. David Coulthard is equal 120th with £6m. All the motorsport personalities who made the 500 are listed below.
