start was het beste tot an die bocht na masta.... de rest was niks :o)
De avond verliep voor mij niet zo heel goed, maar ook niet heel slecht. 'k Was al blij dat we überhaupt een server hadden, waarvoor nogmaals dank aan de mensen van de VRL :), it's been real pals. De eerste samenwerking was een succes vond ik.
Het startveld was gelukkig ook opnieuw wat groter.
M'n trainingen verliepen zonder noemenswaardige uitschieters : m'n snelste tijd gereden in m'n eerste gechronometreerde ronde en daarna altijd wel ergens een foutje gemaakt.
Bij de start kom ik goed weg en kan een tweetal mensen verschalken (BJ (?) en de Eagle-rijder). Nadat ik bij de scherpe linkse na Eau Rouge de vangrail kus, kan de Eagle-rijder erlangs, maar bij Masta bots ik pardoes op hem, nadat hij met een Lotus in contact was gekomen. Zou waarschijnlijk sowieso Masta niet zonder brokken zijn doorgekomen, want zat al met 2 wielen in het gras...
Daarna als laatste voortgereden, 2 Ferrari's ingehaald en dat was het zowat. Tot m'n verbazing merkte ik wel dat ik constant aan het inlopen was op niemand minder als Siggy, eerst mondjesmaat, daarna steeds meer. Indien ik in de voorlaatste ronde niet opnieuw bij Masta gecrasht was (3 x, 3 x shift-r, telkens in Masta dus), dan was hij een vogel voor de kat geweest :D.
De snelheid was er wel (althans naar mijn maatstaven; getuige een nieuw Brabham-pr met meer dan halfvolle tanks), maar deze keer niet de regelmaat. Het is altijd iets.

Toffe race gasten! Jammer dat ik Jan en Mario meegesleurd heb in de eerste ronde in Masta. Moest dat niet gebeurd zijn, en had onze Tom niet zonder benzine gevallen kon het een VRL 1 2 3 zijn :p
Kwas verdome dicht bij de overwinning, ik zag 2 rondes van het einde Joep in de verte, en ik heb alles op alles gezet: 2x in de 3.18's gereden... ik kwam net een paar bochten tekort om hem nog te kunnen pakken, maar kben toch content. Khad niks getraind op voorhand omdat ik toch niet van plan was om te starten. Ik kon het niet laten om toch maar ervoor te gaan :)
Ja Tim.... jut die gasten nog wat op om extra te oefenen voor Le Mans. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel slim zenne! :D :D
Efkes serieus... 't was een toffe race. 'k Heb mij goe geamuseerd.
Weet ge wat mij opvalt als ge met alleen Vlamingen en Nederlanders rijdt? -Dat er niet gezanikt wordt als er eens iets misloopt of er twee opeen knallen. Da's verfrissend.
Ik zie sommige van die Amerikanen mekaar nog eens een rechtszaak aandoen omdat ze denken dat ze van de baan gekegeld zijn.
