1992 Formula One™ World Champion, Nigel Mansell, could be about to make his return to the sport which brought him so much success in a managerial role with one of the sport's top outfits. The Briton, now 49, won thirty-one times in an illustrious Grand Prix career spanning some fifteen years, but has been out of the limelight since announcing his retirement in 1995 whilst competing for McLaren Mercedes.

"I wouldn't have a problem getting involved in an advisory role, in fact I'd probably like that," Mansell told this week's edition of Motorsport News. "I wouldn't want to go to all the races but even at the age I am, I'd be interested in going to some tests. You have to be an honest broker in any business. It would be very interesting and satisfying to be part of something and make it successful. But full-time, absolutely not.

"Having said that, anything is possible in motor racing if the package is exciting enough. I do know a little bit about motor racing and who knows? From time to time I do give a quiet opinion to people who ask."

Mansell to Jaguar Racing to fill the ousted Niki Lauda's shoes? Stranger things have happened, particularly when you consider he has a wealth of knowledge of reasonably modern-day Formula One™ machinery, and was an engineer prior to his Grand Prix debut. Remember, you read it here first!
