Top six on tomorrow's grid are Juan Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher, Michael Schumacher, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Rubens Barrichello and Jacques Villeneuve. Both Minardi's and both Arrows failed to qualify. There is talk that Juan Pablo Montoya failed to slow for yellow flags on his final lap and Stewards are investigating the situation.

according to reports coming out of Belgium, McLaren team boss, Ron Dennis asked the chief stewards to look into the drivers times that were carried out in the final minutes of yesterday's qualifying session as they all improved their times dramatically under yellow flag conditions, however the appeal was rejected and the provisional grid officially stands.

There were seventeen drivers that improved in the final minutes of the session as the yellow flags were waving on the side of the circuit for the stranded Sauber of Nick Heidfeld. Ironically enough, one of the offenders was a McLaren, however Dennis wanted the rule about improving under those conditions clarified.

“We appealed to try and understand why the regulation is being interpreted in a specific way that it hasn't been interpreted before," he was quoted as saying. "The regulations say that if you go through a yellow flag and set a fastest time in that sector, you lose your fastest lap."

Prior to the final five minutes, both McLaren drivers were in the top three, however they were bumped back to seventh and ninth after other drivers came out for a final run on dry tyres.
