bron: fia-gt.comLister Racing is currently second in the Teams Classification, scoring a total of 8 points in the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa. The nr 15 Storm finished in fourth place in the GT category, and the team has announced that Belgian driver David Sterckx, who shared the car with Piccini, Lancieri and Pickering, will be back in the car at Anderstorp, alongside Andrea Piccini.

As for the nr 14 car, which crashed out in the heavy rain shortly before the six-hour point, it will have a new engine for Sweden. "It's still the same block, but with new internals, and I am looking forward to running it," Jamie Campbell-Walter explained. "We have been developing it for 2004, but we hope to get it running now so that it will be 100% reliable for next year. It should be a good race - we had pole last year, and it's a good track for us. I'd really like to get a win soon - otherwise this could be my first year in the Lister without a victory. We're taking a bit of a risk with the new engine, but we hope it stays together. It should give a small increase in horsepower, which would put us up with the Ferrari and Saleen in straight line speed, and with our chassis advantage, I'm quite confident for a front row start."

The nr 15 car will have the standard engine. "Andrea can still aim for the Championship, so we decided to run things this way," Jamie explained. The team will have a shakedown at Silverstone before packing up for Anderstorp.

Pre-Anderstorp News
John Newman at Team Maranello Concessionaires has confirmed that the team was testing a new sequential gearbox and Magneti Marelli electronic system on one of the Ferrari 360s in Italy last week: “We will be running one car at Anderstorp with this in place,” says Newman.

One of the JMB cars will be running the same system too. The French squad will presumably run it on the #52 Bertolini / de Simone car – assuming testing was successful.

We missed posting this early last month, but it’s confirmed that the #22 and #23 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550s will race at Anderstorp with smaller restrictors: down from 32.1 to 31.6 mm. The Care Racing #21 Ferrari is not affected by this change.

While the Championship leaders receive a cut in power, Jamie Campbell-Walter and Nathan Kinch are looking forward to a modest power increase in the #14 Lister Storm. Laurence Pearce has been working on engine improvements to the big V12 since last December, and the work will see the public light of day this weekend in Sweden.

David Sterckx - a regular for the team at the Spa 24 Hours – joins Andrea Piccini in the #15 Lister, with the standard engine.

Creation enters two Listers of course – and we’ll provide a preview of the event in due course.

And looking towards the end of the season, the race debut of the JMB Ferrari 575 is now set for Estoril in early October. The car will be launched publicly at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

Finally, still looking to the end of the year, Autosprint in Italy reported last week that the Reiter team has been testing at the Adria circuit - with a Lamborghini Diablo, fitted with a Murcielago engine. The new car should race at Estoril and Monza. We don't have any times or any indication how the test went.
