Ferrari number two driver, Rubens Barrichello has expressed his 'surprise' that team-mate Michael Schumacher, will not retire in 2004.
Schumi, who won a record breaking sixth drivers' crown this season, was forced to wait until the final round to clinch the title, eventually finishing two points in front of McLaren star and no doubt future F1 champion, Kimi Raikkonen.
Barrichello though is shocked that the German will continue to race next year, when their is seemingly little to gain, and a lot to lose...
Speaking to Ananova, the Brazilian commented: "If it was me I know what I would do.
"But I don't know what goes through his mind.
"If he still has the will to race, the will to win, then he should continue racing."
Schumacher's current deal with the Scuderia expires at the end of 2006, when the German will be 38 years old.
Rubens meanwhile has yet to agree a new deal with the Maranello based squad, his contract runs out at the end of next season, with speculation suggesting that a number of drivers could be in line to replace him, including Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella.
