LMES News From Sebring

50 Starters Predicted For LMES

ACO sources at Sebring were happy to confirm that 35 cars have so far registered for all four LMES rounds this season. 40 cars are “expected to commit for all four rounds,” with up to 50 starters hoped for at each round, including national entries. Reports of the races being oversubscribed were described as being “untrue if current registrations are the measure.”

“We hope that in 2005 the LMES will attract 35-40 full season entries in Europe. while the ALMS attracts a similar number in North America. We are very confident that manufacturer interest in sportscars, both in the GT categories and in prototypes, will start to pick up quickly now we have a set of regulations that give stability going forward,” said our senior ACO source.

TVR Numbers Growing

It looks as though there could be a strong TVR presence at all the LMES rounds this season.

Paddock sources in Sebring confirm our suspicions that up to five T400Rs could grace the grids of the LMES.

The pair of Chamberlain-Synergy T400Rs will be joined by the pairing due to be campaigned by RSR Motorsport (two cars from round 2), with a fifth entry in selected races from Peninsula Motorsport.
