Minardi's 2002 F1 engine supplier, Asiatech has closed down its factory in Velizy, near Paris, and laid off its 200 staff. A statement said: "Because of a lack of funds guaranteed for the continuation of its activity, Asia Motor Technologies France ceased its operations on October 31, 2002." The 2002 season was the second for the Asian-owned consortium after it entered F1 by purchasing the former Peugeot Sport hardware and development facilities.

achja, die dingen hebben nooit hoge toppen kunnen scheren in hun 2 jaar F1. Wat wil je dan ook, engine-supplier van Arrows en Minardi is nu ook niet echt een mooi visitekaartje :)
Wel vreemd, in de loop van het seizoen wilden ze nog met een eigen team beginnen, en nu blazen ze het hele project in die mate af, dat ze gewoon met F1 stoppen.

Wie gaat er eigenlijk Asiatech missen?
