wat me wel opviel was, op 28 april vertelde Peter Sauber me: "With regard to signing our second driver for the coming season we are considering Felipe Massa as a prime candidate. However, no final decision has been taken so far. Although Felipe Massa's connection with Ferrari plays a certain role in our considerations, we would not be thinking about signing Massa without being convinced of his professional skills. <b>In his year with SAUBER PETRONAS, Felipe Massa proved his exceptional speed. At the end of 2002, I recommended that he sign on with Ferrari as their test driver in order to become even more familiar with the technical aspects of Formula One."</b>
Vandaag kreeg ik de press-release en las: "<b>Back in 2002, Felipe already proved his exceptional speed. At the end of that season, I had recommended to him that, rather than going on to race for any other team, he should sign on with Ferrari as a test driver in order to become even more familiar with the technical aspects of Formula One.</b> Getting first-hand experience of how Ferrari and Michael Schumacher operate is perfect training for a young racing driver. I´m convinced that Felipe is now able to make optimum use of his potential."
Toen, einde augustus, was dit dus al bekend :)
