The re-christened Renault team rolled out of the Barcelona pit-lane this morning with its re-painted Benettons bearing close resemblance to Regie cars of old.

When Jenson Button took to the track for the first time at this week's test, the reliveried B201 all but confirmed that Renault will return to Formula One wearing the historic yellow-and-white colour scheme made famous by the likes of Alain Prost, Jean-Pierre Jabouille, Rene Arnoux, Patrick Tambay and Derek Warwick.

Suspicions were raised that the nostalgia would be back in fashion at the French-owned outfit for 2002 when its trucks rolled up at the Circuit de Catalunya for the first test of 2002 bearing the same yellow-and-white colours that graced the Regie's last works foray into F1, but the team insists that no-one but insiders will know the true livery until the first Renault entry for almost 20 years is revealed to the public on 27 January.

It is expected, however, that the car will have to accept the influence of sponsors - something that the older models weren't so affected by - with the pale blue of former Benetton title backer Mild Seven appearing somewhere on the bodywork.
