McRae zal ook in Australie de 2de Skoda besturen
Nu maar hopen dat Skoda in 2006 ook nog actief is in WRC. Dan zou McRae wel eens full time voor Skoda kunnen rijden. Een deel van het budget zou wel eens van Red Bull kunnen komen.

Although McRae's deal has not yet been officially inked, Skoda team manager Joan Sureda says that an agreement to compete in Australia is nearly in place. McRae was keen to link a drive in Australia to a long-term deal with Skoda, but the team's parent company has yet to officially decide its plans for next year and a decision isn't expected until the run-up to the southern hemisphere event.
"We've almost reached an agreement with Colin," Sureda said. "He did a good job on Rally GB - not only in terms of helping the engineers with feedback on the car, but also from the point of view of media exposure. We'd be very pleased to see him back in the car. We'll hopefully have a long-term decision [on next year] before Australia."
Skoda is currently putting together a budget for next year for approval by its parent board. A possible tie-in with energy drink Red Bull's rally driver academy is apparently being mooted, thanks to links with current works driver Armin Schwarz, who is retiring at the end of this year.
