Het "fabrieksteam" van Porsche staat ruim op kop bij de start vanmiddag in Daytona. De pole-tijd van dit jaar was maar liefst 1.4 seconden sneller dan vorig jaar. 16 !! andere DP wagens waren ook sneller dan de pole-tijd van vorig jaar.......16 wagens binnen één seconde voor de start van een endurance wedstrijd. dat zal niet vaak voorkomen.
Lammers neemt de start vanaf P19, het team van Huisman vertrekt vanaf P13.
