Dat is inderdaad wel een unieke kans voor sauber. Maar Ferrari rijdt wel met een hybride motor de 050D.

dit is een stukje dat ik vond over de F12001b.
Quote:
The F2001B will look substantially similar to the old car but will be totally new as material structure (the same as the F2002) and the engine will be an exclusive enhanched version of the 050 with a lot of parts belonging to the 051
en hier nog wat info over de F1 2002

F2002: what they didn't say

Bargeboards, missing chassis, old wings...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From record to record: Michael Schumacher has brought his F2002 beyond the Fiorano track record of 58’’620 clocked only two days ago: now the newest lap record of the italian track is 58’’378. Astonishing as astonished was Michael at the end of these two days of first tests on board of the brand new and incomplete F2002.

Michael stops here and tomorrow he’ll move to Mugello for more interesting tests. Michael should have the complete F2002/217, with new wings, bargeboards and new pair of winglets on the very end of the sidepods.

Fiorano gave thumbs up to the new born of Maranello. 400 kilometers with two track records and no failures. The only stop suffered by Michael was due to the empty fuel tank at the end of the first day of test.

Now T-C, as promised, can give an indepth look inside the first debut of the F2002, explaining all the strange things appened in the italian track.

Where are the chassis 215 and 216?

The first model of F2002 is the chassis 217. Being the 214 the last F2001 ever built many of the experts asked why Ferrari didn’t count the 215 and the 216. Missing numbers only or something more? According to our reliable sources the 215 and 216 are existing cars (that never run so far) ready to fly in Australia: they are the famous F2001B that T-C anticipated months ago to be used to race in the first three Gp of the 2002 season.

The F2001B will look substantially similar to the old car but will be totally new as material structure (the same as the F2002) and the engine will be an exclusive enhanched version of the 050 with a lot of parts belonging to the 051.

Where are the bargeboards?

Why Ferrari didn’t show the bargeboards presented at the launch? Easy: our sources inform us that those bargeboards were the F2001’s ones and the F2002’s are not ready yet: Rory is still working on them. During the launch we saw them only for sponsor purposes. Michael can’t run with them because, belonging to another car, it may have messed up the results coming from telemetry.

Rory is still developing the new ones in the wind gallery and their missing it may have caused a loss of aerodynamic performance of the 4 per cent! In this way the 58’’378 of Fiorano seems a laptime more than beatable.

Where is the double kell?

The nosecone. During the months ago T-C spoke about the double kell and the seagull wingspan. To spare time on testing Ferrari has opted for a “plan-B” solution, the easiest. The new nosecone is ready but it may require more time on finding the set-up and the correct development. And time is not by the Ferrari’s side: that’s why Rory opted on a easier nosecone very similar to the old one, with the traditional mono keel. Advanced solutions may appear after Imola.

Does the front wing look a bit... old?

The wings: the F2002 ran in Fiorano with the ‘ancient’ Montecarlo spec wings of the F2001! Yes, it is. Our sources confirm what a good photo of Montecarlo 2001 Gp may hint: Michael shattered the Fiorano track records with a 9 months old wing! The new one is still in the wind tunnel but in Mugello it may appear for the first time and, according to sources, it may be surprising.

One more news will come from the rear: Rory has ready to new winglets, the traditional winglets before the rear wheels: about their shape, it is still a mystery. About the F2002, anyway, no mystery at all: it is a rocket.
