Ferrari Could Take Both Chassis March 6 13:30

Jean Todt has admitted that the team could take both chassis to the Malaysian Grand Prix next week

Ferrari's sporting director Jean Todt had already set Saturday as the deadline for the team to make a decision on which car to take to Malaysia. But the Frenchman has now revealed that the scarlet squad could take both chassis to the second race of the year at the Sepang circuit. The team put on a dominant display at last weekend's Australian Grand Prix, with a qualifying one-two and Michael Schumacher's storming win. Both drivers used an updated model of last year's F2001 because of the reliability doubts of this year's car. The team is testing both chassis at Fiorano and Mugello this week and Todt has said the outfit will decide what to do on Saturday.

"Burti tests at Fiorano the F2001 with new components," Todt told Italian daily La Repubblica. "Badoer is at Mugello with the F2002. Saturday, with the test results at hand, we'll take a decision.

"There are three possible solutions: to go to Malaysia with the old F2001 used here in Australia, or to go to Malaysia with the new F2002, or to go with a new car and an old car."

Although Michael Schumacher has already tried out this year's model, team-mate Rubens Barrichello has yet to do so.
