Spyker to sit out Malaysian test

According to reports in the Malaysian press the Spyker Formula one team will not be taking part in the upcoming test at the Sepang circuit, instead they will return to their Silverstone base so that they can work on the aerodynamics of their 2007 contender ahead of the second round of the season.

Malaysian test driver, Fairuz Fauzy was hoping to take part in the session so that he would have the chance to run in the Formula One contender in front of his home fans, however the only chance of that happening now is if he is granted time during the free practice sessions on the Friday of the Malaysian GP.

“The team won’t be part of the official tests at Sepang because they’re working on the aerodynamics at the factory. So, my next official test session could come only when we get to Silverstone next month,” Fairuz was quoted as saying in the New Straits Times. “The team is still probably having some budget constraints. So, whether or not I’ll be part of the Friday testing prior to the Malaysian Grand Prix still isn’t confirmed yet.”

Ze zouden beter geld uitgeven aan ontwikkeling dan aan advocaten.
