Superleague Formula - Sevilla joins the championship

The Spanish-based organisers of new Superleague Formula championship have scored a home victory – signing two-time UEFA Cup champions Sevilla FC to the motor racing championship which will kick off in August this year. Sevilla’s Superleague Formula car will be unveiled Thursday next week at the club’s home ground, Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán by coach Manolo Jiménez and club captain Javi Navarro with the entire playing squad on hand. The racing team selected to run the Sevilla entry also will be revealed at next week’s unveiling.

Sevilla joins leading European rivals AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven, FC Porto, Olympiacos, Borussia Dortmund, RSC Anderlecht, Galatasaray, FC Basel and Brazilian club, Flamengo. With 10 of the 20 clubs already now secured, Brazilian and UK football fans will be the next to celebrate with an upcoming Superleague Formula announcement – the second Brazilian team and the initial UK club. Additional clubs from France, Mexico, Korea, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates have also agreed to terms with Superleague Formula and these are scheduled to be announced during the coming weeks.
