De plaatsen 23 t/m 33 moeten nog bepaald worden. Als het even meezit staan er dit jaar 33 aan de start. Een uitverkocht huis, dat was de laaste jaren niet altijd het geval. Op de deelnemerslijsten zie je vaker wel 40 of 50 wagens staan. Je kwalificeert een wagen op Indy, niet een coureur. De reservewagens staan daarom apart ingeschreven op de lijst, vaak met een T-nummer. Extreem voorbeeld, je kunt bijvoorbeeld lekkertje Danica laten starten in de wagen van Helio op P1.
