Panizzi out of Oz
Peugeot has confirmed that Gilles Panizzi will miss next week's Rally Australia after the team's test car was severely damaged by team-mate Richard Burns during a crash on Thursday.
The Frenchman was scheduled to drive the car used for pre-event testing on the penultimate round of the season. Unfortunately, Burns destroyed the test 206 WRC when he left the road during Thursday afternoon's session. This means that Panizzi will not have a car available for next week's event, although he will stay on in Australia in order to recce the route.
His final appearance of 2002 will therefore be the Rally of Great Britain where he will drive a Bozian Racing-prepared car of the same specification as the 206 WRCs entered for Juuso Pykalisto and Valentino Rossi.
