Nissan Motor Co is evaluating a programme in NASCAR's Craftsman Truck series, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Tokyo manufacturer will launch a new pickup truck in America later this year. Larry Dominique, chief product specialist for Nissan's US-made trucks and SUVs, said that NASCAR had initiated the dialogue, which he wants to keep open to learn more about the series. Japanese rival Toyota will enter the Craftsman Truck series in 2004.
