Petter Solberg went off on the shakedown stage on Thursday morning. The accident halted the session as the Subaru hit a pole and brought down power lines. The crew is reported to be OK but the Subaru was too badly damaged to get out of the stage, to the west of Ajaccio, under its own power.

The team has yet to see the car, but it is thought that almost every panel is damaged, and the car will be taken to the main service area for (considerable) attention. It is not feasible to bring another car in , but the crew may - at the Stewards discretion - be allowed to miss this evening's ceremonial start.
