wat me wel opviel was, op 28 april vertelde Peter Sauber me: "With regard to signing our second driver for the coming season we are considering Felipe Massa as a prime candidate. However, no final decision has been taken so far. Although Felipe Massa's connection with Ferrari plays a certain role in our considerations, we would not be thinking about signing Massa without being convinced of his professional skills.
In his year with SAUBER PETRONAS, Felipe Massa proved his exceptional speed. At the end of 2002, I recommended that he sign on with Ferrari as their test driver in order to become even more familiar with the technical aspects of Formula One."
