Zondag komen de Belgische en Nederlandse Dakar-deelnemers samen voor de zogeheten voorstart in Hasselt. Om 9 uur wordt iedereen voorgesteld in de Limburgiahal, u kunt gratis binnen. Er is ook animatie, met Afrikaanse dansers. Sommige deelnemers zullen er wel zonder auto zijn, omdat die al op weg is naar Frankrijk.
