F60 Prototype Destroyed at Fiorano

Usually reliable sources from Maranello have reported that the column of smoke rising from the Fiorano test track on 4th December was from the F60 prototype, whch was gutted by fire.

It is not known whether the fire was a result of an accident or a mechanical failure. No injuries are reported. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene the car was completely burnt out.

The car had been testing at Fiorano for some time and has been widely photographed in the Maranello area whilst on test duties. It is due to be introduced in 2002.
