ALMS 2010, een opleving?

Voorspelling:
1 x grote LMP klasse waarin P1 en P2 aan elkaar gelijk worden gemaakt

Klinkt leuk. Zal misschien wel vloeken worden voor teams die geïnvesteerd hebben in dure LMP1's terwijl ze verslagen kunnen worden door de (iets) goedkopere LMP2's. Zelfde verhaal voor GT1, al zullen de GT1's nu voor "een appel en een ei" verkocht worden.

LMP1 en LMP2 weer meer gelijkmaken zoals in het verleden is misschien een oplossing. Was toch een leuke strijd tussen de Audi's, Porsches en Acura's. Veel zal ook afhangen van Audi. Als die terugkeren dan ziet het er sowieso al een stuk beter uit.

Een enkele GT klasse voor GT2 wagens lijkt me logisch. Toevoeging van GT1's die restricties hebben vind ik overbodig vanwege het feit dat we, op de fabrieks Corvettes na, toch al bijna geen GT1's hebben gezien in de afgelopen jaren.


Er zijn toch ook geruchten over een single make lmp klasse (zoiets als Formula Le Mans)? Een klasse met single make prototypes die aangedreven worden door Daytona Prototype motoren lijkt me ook wel iets. (ja, ik weet het dat is vloeken in de kerk )

ik dacht dat er in ALMS geen GT1's meer waren?

Yup, maar wil niet zeggen dat er geen GT1's meer opgeborgen kunnen staan in Amerikaanse garages.

In de mogelijke opleving van ALMS zien we het team van Farnbacher-Loles niet meer terug. De reden? Loles heeft last van het Madoof-syndroom

En toch ziet het er al bij al nog niet zo slecht uit voorlopig. GT2 lijkt minstens evenwaardig te worden aan de voor die klasse toch Grand Cru van 2009. Verder moeten we hopen op enkele privateers erbij voor de LMP-klasse. Want voorlopig komen we niet verder dan 3 serieuze kanshebbers op de titel (Highcroft (misschien wel 2e wagen erbij), Dyson (betrouwbaarheid is hopelijk thuis in 2010) en Cytosport (met het gerucht dat Porsche ondersteuning zal geven). Qua spanning in de LMP-klasse kan het gelukkig enkel maar beter tegenover het hele magere 2009...

Dat was ik inmiddels uit het oog verloren. Het is eerder nog een Trans-Am gebaseerd voertuig zeker?

Hoe zit het nu met die M3 GTR's, hebben die al een FIA homologatie?
