Voor de 15e uitgave van de Spa Ferrari Days hebben de promotors, RACE en Garage Francorchamps, besloten enkele belangrijke veranderingen aan het formaat van het event aan te brengen. De meeting zal inderdaad dit jaar het circuit ter beschikking stellen van eigenaars van Ferrari's en Maserati's - zowel historic cars als nieuwe, als weggebruiker of de sportieve uitgave. Zondag 27 april is specifiek gereserveerd voor free laps waarbij elke eigenaar van een Ferrari of een Maserati de kans zal krijgen het mooiste circuit ter wereld te (her)ontdekken. Daarenboven zal de site totaal vrij toegankelijk zijn voor het publiek.

Spa Ferrari Days Races Are Cancelled
The organisers of the 2003 Spa Ferrari Days meeting, scheduled for 25-27 April, have notified us that they have CANCELLED all the races at the event.

As a result, not only have the double header PMFC rounds had to be cancelled but also the European 360 Challenge and Shell Historic races.

The reason appears to be the withdrawal of support from the Belgian telecoms sponsor combined with a sudden increase (+30%) of the circuit charges as a result of the removal from the FIA calendar of the Belgian Grand Prix.

A last minute appeal for financial assistance from Ferrari SpA was, we are told, not forthcoming.

Garage Francorchamps may still hold a track day event at the circuit on the 27th April for Ferraris and Maseratis.

Als Spa zonder tabaksreclame te duur wordt, kan Zolder er misschien van meeprofiteren?

Het zou hoe dan ook een spijtige zaak zijn als het mooiste circuit van de wereld in onbruik zou raken...

Blijkbaar komt het met de Ferrari Days toch nog in orde.

Further to the cancellation of the Spa Ferrari Days which we reported on 10 February, we have now been informed that due to the financial assistance of Ferrari SpA the meeting is back on again.

It takes place on 25-27 April 2003 and involves the 360 Challenge, the Shell Historics and the UK's Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge.
