Voor de Monte zou Makinen er wel eens heel veel kunnen verrassen. Hij zal er wel op gebrand zijn om daar nog eens voor de 5de maal te winnen.

Verder denk ik dat ook Solberg hier niet zal teleurstellen. Ik verwacht precies Subaru als sterkste concurrent voor de Peugeots. Loix gaat hopelijk ook een goede start kennen van 2003.

Verder zullen Loeb en Panizzi ook niet slecht presteren, denk ik.

Ik hoop dat de "Fransen" niet allemaal competitief zijn... De F1 fans onder ons weten immers wat dat teweeg brengt.

Ja... 't is geen Ford maar een volvo (wat als ik me niet vergis wél tot de Ford groep behoort; maar toch vrij bizar)

De ouvreurs van Thiry gebruiken trouwens altijd een subaru impreza ipv een Peugeot.

Ik ben al een aantal keren gaan kijken naar de Monte, maar dit jaar vond ik het de moeite niet. Slechts in de 50 deelnemers da vind ik toch maar weinig om daarvoor naar Nice te vliegen, auto te huren en serieus lange verbindingsstukken af te leggen. Spijtig want het is anders wel leuk om in het begin van het seizoen al die nieuwe rijders en auto's te zien.

Ik vond het vroeger beter met tegen de 200 deelnemers en veel meer kilometers KP. Men is op deze manier wel aan het proberen om rally meer "TV-vriendelijk" te maken, maar ik ben toch bang dat dit de rally kapot gaat maken ???

Slechts 2 Belgische ploegen aan de start:
Duval/Fortin en Loix/Smeets.
Wel 2 teams die kunnen scoren.

De nieuwe Subaru al gezien? Ráár achtervleugeltje ze...

Ford zou naar het schijnt gewoon in het wit rijden met RS logo's na het vertrek van zowel Martini als Telefonica

Subaru heeft 2 vleugels laten homologeren. Ze kunnen dus wisselen tijdens een service en zo steeds aangepast zijn aan de volgende proeven.

Panizzi heeft al 60" aan de broek wegens verkennen met een kapot GPS systeem.

als ik de wagens zo bekijk... 1 groot nadeel voor de 2 Belgen... budget!


Hyundai
Technical: The team has not done any specialist testing ahead of this
event. The only changes to the car are to the differential mapping and
suspension settings, which make it easier to drive on snow and ice.

Quotes: Freddy Loix said: “I’m feeling good for this rally. I had the pins
taken out of my leg (put in after he broke his leg on this event last
year) after Rally Great Britain, which means that I have been able to get
on and do plenty of exercise over the winter.”



Ford
Technical: Ford start the season with an improved 2002-specification Focus
RS WRC. This will be the team’s first event in two years running on
Michelin tyres, following its closed-season switch from Pirelli. The team
has been testing right up until the start of the recce earlier this week.

François Duval said: “This is my first Monte Carlo in a World Rally Car.
It’s going to be very different to last year, when I was in the Junior
World Rally Championship. My objective is to get some points, but I have a
lot to learn.”
