Blijkbaar is er een 'klein' kampioenschapje in S2000 met ieper als een van de vier rally's, indien ik het goed heb begrepen. artikel staat op officiele website .

JAS Honda Civic Type R Super 2000 rallywagen?

S2000 lijkt goed op gang te komen. De Zuid-Afrikaanse Toyota S2000 komt ook naar Europa.

De nieuwe S2000 ziet er inderdaad een stuk stoerder en volwassender uit.

En de FIA loopt het dun door de broek. Om de S2000 wagens bij zich te houden heeft men het idee opgevat om deze wagens de basis te laten vormen voor het JWRC 2009 kampioenschap. Of als basis voor een 2de divisie van het WRC.

Red World Rally Team verwacht 20 wagens te verkopen en dat alles binnen het maximum bedrag van € 168.000 per wagen. Inclusief spare-parts mag de prijs niet meer dan 115% bedragen van die € 168.000.

Ford ook???
Ford maakt een haalbaarheidsstudie om ook een S2000 te bouwen, dit zal indien het doorgaat vooral bestemd zijn voor nationale kampioenschappen en betekent dus geenszins dat Ford uit het WK zou stappen met zijn succesrijke WRC 06. Afwachten maar.

Toy S2000-IRC
Alister Mc Rae en Dani Sola gelinkt aan RED Toyota voor het IRC-kampioenschap. Vanzelfsprekend nog niet volledig bevestigd.

A. McRae was te verwachten he aangezien hij al jaren met RED rijdt en in de RAC de Toyota S2000 zal laten debuteren

Nu ook nog Sköda
Skoda zal in 2007 de tweede versie van zijn Fabia volgend jaar presenteren. Van het moederhuis VAG hebben zij toelating gekregen om zich verder in de rallysport te engageren, maar dit keer niet met een WRC maar wel degelijk met een S2000. Eerste deelname zou gepland zijn voor 2008. Over een eventuele verderzetting van het programma met de actuele WRC's door Red Bull, werd voorlopig niets medegedeeld.
