na 2 stages in het wk mijn eerste conclusies:
* gaan voor het wereldkampioenschap: Citroën, Subaru, Peugeot * gaan voor een occasionele podiumplaats: Ford * proberen enkele punten te scoren: Skoda en Hyundai. Hyundai's (13e en 15e) kunnen juist "Mikko HIRVONEN" volgen die nieuw is in het wk én met een 2002 Focus versie op stap is... eigenlijk normaal... Hyundai rijdt met praktisch dezelfde wagen als vorig jaar én heeft in het tussenseizoen 2 dagen getest.  Duval 1 sec. per km trager dan Martin. Niet slecht volgens mij! Als hij dat kan volhouden in de rally's waar hij nog niet met een WRC aan de start stond! En waar hij al wel WRC ervaring heeft misschien iets meer?! Weet er iemand of er bij de teams dit jaar 2 of 3 piloten punten mogen scoren voor het wk??

Ik kan je mening alleen maar delen. Ik wilde net hetzelfde komen posten na het bekijken van de eerste 2 KP's. Van de Peugeots had ik wel niet onmiddellijk Gronholm helemaal vooraan verwacht. Van Auriol had ik verwacht dat hij zijn Skoda voor de Hyundais kon plaatsen. Duval doet het in ieder geval niet sclecht en zijn materiaal is beter dan dat van Loix. Op je vraag van 2 of 3 piloten moet ik het antwoord helaas schuldig blijven ... Oh ja, in de super 1600 zijn die Suzuki's niet slecht begonnen.

 Monte-Carlo : After SS4 Francois Duval made a mistake in this stage, having lost his right rear wheel in an encounter with a tree: “We were going through a series of bends about 5 kms before the end, and I hit a tree. I was 20 cm away from avoiding it. I'll try to make it to the service area but I'm not sure I'll be able to.” ( Bron: rally-live.com ) François Duval and Jean-Marc Fortin produced their best performance so far with seventh fastest time through Prunieres - Embrun. However, while on course for another good time in the next test, the Belgians' Focus RS hit a tree four kilometres before the finish, damaging the rear right wheel. They lost 50sec but the damage was such that Duval and Fortin were unable to fit the spare wheel. They drove the 21km to the Tallard service park on the brake disc but the strength of the Focus RS ensured they reached the control in time. "There were two left-hand bends together and on the second there was a lot of mud. The rear of the car slid wide and into a tree. It was a bizarre reaction," said 22-year-old Duval. Mechanics had prepared a new rear suspension and axle and they worked furiously in the service park to restore Duval's battered car to full health with no additional penalties, earning huge applause from fans watching their efforts. jep hij heeft de proef kunnen uitrijden maar heeft meer dan een half uur achterstand.
