dit lijkt zowat op de tijd toen sigaretten reclame verboden werd.

Eigenlijk moet reclame voor banken ook verboden worden, of minstens onder deze reclame de waarschuwing : "brengt de economie zware schade toe"

Renault heeft trouwens een abonnement op crashes in Turn 17 op het circuit van Singapore: Romain Grosjean kwakte vandaag tijdens de eerste vrije oefensessie voor de GP van Singapore in de muur op dezelfde plaats als Piquet Jr. vorig jaar...

De teamleden van Renault lopen anders nog vrolijk met "ING" groot op hun kleding.
Bij de raceoveral (toch die van Grosjean), is ING verwijderd van de voorkant, maar op de mouwen zie ik wel nog kleine ING logo's ...

Interessante achtergrond informatie betreffende de Piquet-case in Sport Auto (Frans maandblad).
Vrij vertaald.
De verhouding tussen Piquet Sr en Jr is wat koel geworden. Een persoon dicht bij de familie Piquet vertelt: "Flavio wilde Piquet niet buitengooien, maar Carlos Gosh wilde hem weg om Grosjean - Fransman - in de plaats te hebben. Flavio heeft daarop naar een plaats voor Piquet gezocht. Hij heeft geprobeerd bij Torro Rosso (Bourdais lag buiten) en bij Ferrari (na het ongeval van Massa); Briatore wilde aldus tonen aan Piquet dat hij alles deed wat mogelijk was, maar dat hij moest buigen voor Ghosn. Probleem is dat vader woest geworden is omdat men het waagde zijn zoon buiten te gooien en heeft alles publiek gemaakt. Zoontje had nog gehoopt er tussenuit te komen, maar de hoogmoed van zijn vader heeft hem definitief uit de F1 gebracht"

In een ander artikel in hetzelfde blad staat dat Piquet
Senior zich totaal onbehoorlijk gedragen heeft in de pits in Interlagos door het vingertje te wijzen naar de Renault mensen; wat verder vallen Bernie en Piquet Sr elkaar in de armen en wanneer Bernie ziet dat fotografen in de buurt staan, gaat bij hem ook het midden vingertje omhoog.

Als Jr ooit wat zal willen presteren in Nascar, dan zal Sr wel wat meer nederigheid moeten tonen; anders zullen de Old Boys Junior wel eens tonen waar de muur is. In Nascar moeten ze niet zo de opgeblazen kikkers.

Volgens is daar het antwoord op: ja, behalve op de Superspeedways Daytona en Talladega. Om daar te mogen racen in Cup moet je voldoende ervaring hebben. Of je voldoende ervaring hebt beslist NASCAR, maar in de praktijk zal dit betekenen dat je geraced moet hebben op lager niveau (Nationwide, Trucks, ARCA).

Zelfs Montoya heeft enkele ARCA wedstrijden moeten rijden, en die had oval-ervaring uit zijn CART-periode
