Goodbye BMW M3 GTR.......Hello BMW M6 GT1
De BMW M3 GTR is bij leven al een legende geworden, neemt niet weg dat er voor legendes ook een einde is. Treurig nieuws maar er is ook goed nieuws. BMW heeft het plan opgevat om een M6 te gaan ontwikkelen voor de FIA GT / LMES / 24-uurs races ............

De gesprekken tussen FIA en BMW zijn van start gegaan over de reglementaire kwesties. Ratel is ook in zijn nopjes dat BMW iets van plan is. Diezelfde Ratel haalde een klein jaar geleden dit model van BMW aan als een van de toekomstige wagens voor de LMES....

Wanneer gaan we deze Beierse kist in real life zien? Zeer zeker niet in 2005, misschien 2006.........maar meer kans voor 2007.

Dit keer zal hij wel gehomologeerd geraken. De M6 zou standaard al 550 pk uit die 5.0 V10 halen.

Er rijdt al een proto rondt van de straatversie, raceversie moeten ze nog aan beginnen...

weeral een GT BMW
De FIA heeft de homologatie goedgekeurd voor de BMW 6-reeks in de GT1. De 6 moet binnenkort de controversiële M3 V8 GTR vervangen.

Eerstdaags zal BMW de M-versie voorstellen van de 6-coupé. En die M6 zal het homologatie-model worden voor de raceversie van de Duitse GT

Volgens http://www.turbomagazine.be/ mogen we de nu al controversiële BMW M6 GT1 verwachten in de tweede helft van 2006. Enkele testraces in 2006 en dan een volledig seizoen in 2007. Bestaat het FIA GT dan nog wel?

Bart Mampaey vertelt op turbomagazine.be dat hij momenteel geen weet heeft van een GT1 project bij BMW en dat alle energie bij gestoken in de ontwikkeling van de E-90 WTCC...

Makes sense... ze gaan nog een heel tijdje doorgaan in WTCC dus geen team om het FIA-GT programma voor z'n rekening nemen.
