Spa 1000 km
FIA SCC - Spa on August 31
The alternative dates for the Spa-Francorchamps event have now been resolved, and the sixth round of the FIA SCC is definitely on August 31.

There’s a degree of rebuilding going on with the Sportscar Championship, but we’re reliably informed that the season will start at Estoril with “16 plus cars”, building towards a solid “20” during the season.

Op 19 en 20 maart zal Racing for Holland op het circuit Francorchamps testen.

Op http://www.autosport.be/main.aspx staat een klein bericht over de 1000km van Spa, dat weekend zal er zeker een worden om niet te missen!!

1000KM van Spa bevestigd
De 1000km de Spa bevestigd op 31 augustus.

In alle eer zal het 100 jarig bestaan van de RAC Spa, club die reeds sinds 1903 lid is van de RACB, gevierd worden met de heropleving van de 1000km van Spa op 31 augustus. Pierre Delettre, organisator, is gelukkig deze prestigieuze internationale wedstrijd te mogen aankondigen op een datum initieel voorzien voor de Grote Prijs F1 van België. Dit goede nieuws zal officieel bevestigd worden tijdens de wereldraad van de FIA volgende week te Parijs. Stéphane Ratel, promotor van het FIA Sportscars Kampioenschap, verheugt zich eveneens en kondigt een kwalitatief deelnemersveld voor de nieuwe 1000km aan: buiten de bekenden van het Kampioenschap (Courage, Lola, Dome, Durango, enz.), kondigt hij de aanwezigheid van ten minste een privé Audi aan (de wagen van Doran Racing met Didier Theys). De aanwezigheid van het Britse GT Kampioenschap kan de meeting enkel meer fleur geven (het deelnemersveld van de 1000km zou dus meer dan zo'n 50 wagens bevatten). In het voorprogramma bewonderen we de Engelse F3, een manche van de EuroBoss F1 en de Formule Palmer.

Nou dat zullen we dan maar eens afwachten, de eerste ronde van het Brits GT kampionschap stelt erg teleur. Maar 14 deelnemers...........met onderling zeer grote verschillen. Laten we hopen dat dit kampioenschap wat meer "momentum" krijgt in de loop van het jaar.

Er rijdt ook een dames-equippe mee in een Viper met wellicht bekende namen: Vicki Butler-Henderson en Amanda Stretton. Tijdens de eerste test van dit team is men niet verder gekomen dan de eerste bocht in de pit-exit lane van Rockingham. Mevrouw Stretton raakte de muur waardoor de radiator onherstelbaar werd beschadigd.

Voor de Hollanders onder ons hier de prijs voor dit superweekend
20euro volgens boekje van Spa-Francorchanps.

Dat is toch zeker niet te duur!!

Er zullen ook de euro gt meerijden.

Maaruh, zo goed als zeker de Audi R8 van Team Goh aan de start van de 1000 km...............e.e.a zou bevestigd worden tijdens de quali's van Le Mans volgende week.

Jammer dat de race reeds de week na Zolder verreden wordt en dus onder de tweede zit... Zo'n Audi R8 moet ik toch ooit eens op circuit aan het werk zien!

Doran Racing heeft toch Dallara MG's en geen Audi???
