Financial meltdown, wie moeten er allemaal stoppen?

Het zal niemand ontgaan zijn dat we in de laatste weken alleen maar zwaar negatief nieuws te verwerken krijgen. Euro's en Dollars verdampen alsof het niets is. Financiele instellingen vallen om of staan op de rand van omvallen. Dat kan volgens mij niet zonder gevolgen blijven voor de autosport.

De eerste die gaat stoppen is Team Essex Invest uit de LMS, officieel omdat de sportieve doelstllingen behaald zijn

Welke teams of series gaan nog zware klappen oplopen?

Behalve recessie schijnt een conflict tussen Nielsen en team owner Peter Halvorsen ook een rol te spelen. Team West-Tec (UK) wil de Porsche overnemen en verder gaan in LMP2.

Niet alleen teams..........

Het kan niet anders dat bepaalde fabrikanten programma's moeten opdoeken in WRC, WTCC, FIA GT, ALMS, LMS, NASCAR, F1 of in welke klasse dan ook. Misschien nog niet in 2009...............maar deze tik gaan we met zijn allen voelen.

Afgelopen zaterdag stond in het Brabants Dagblad een interview met Nelson vd Pol. Die had al de verwachting dat BRL zou stoppen. Ik vond dat toen een opmerkelijke uitspraak, zeker omdat Maessen plannen heeft voor Formule BRL. Nu blijkt dat het toch niet ver van de waarheid was.

Geen AM's van Jetalliance in Argentinie "due financial reasons". Welke gevolgen gaat dat voor 2009 hebben? Is er nog een Citation Cup?

Virgo uit de LMS ziet zijn financier Jim McWhirter verdwijnen. Virgo wil doorgaan met funded drivers. Succes heren!

Het DTC was een van de betere toerisme kampioenschappen in Europa maar in de laatste paar weken hebben ze daar aardig wat slecht nieuws te verteren gehad.

Waar er winnaars zijn, zijn er ook verliezers, maar ook anders om.
zo meld pitstop.tv dat volkswagen record cijfers heeft gehaald met de verkoop van haar modellen.
Wel opvallend is dat volkswagen zo goed als nergens in de autosport actief is, toch niet als fabrieks team, we hebben de dakar troepen, dan hebben we de scirocco's gehad tijdens de 24h van de nurburgring, voor de rest komt me niet direct een kampioenschap in me op waar ik fabrieks volkswagens heb zien rijden.
