Jordan driver Takuma Sato will take part in this weekend's Historic Monaco Grand Prix, after specialists declared him fit to race following his accident in Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix.
Sato left Graz University hospital on Monday morning and flew back to England.

According to Jordan's official website, he then visited specialists in London on Tuesday, who recommended nothing more than rest and regular ice packs for his bruised right leg.

According to Jordan, Sato will now travel to Monte Carlo on Friday ahead of the historic race, in which he is scheduled to drive a Lotus 49B. It is the actual car used by Graham Hill to win the 1968 and 1969 Monaco Grands Prix.

The event will allow the Japanese rookie to familiarise himself with the challenging street circuit ahead of his Monaco debut for Jordan the following weekend. First practice for the famous race will take place on Thursday 23rd May.

Sato's accident in Austria happened when Nick Heidfeld lost control of his Sauber and spun across the grass into the side of the Jordan. The 25-year-old spent some time trapped in his car, before he was freed and taken to hospital. He was discharged with nothing worse than a bruised leg.

Sato, the reigning British Formula Three champion is in his first season of Formula One™ racing. He has yet to score a point, his best results to date being ninth places in Malaysia and Brazil.
