JAGUAR PREPARE FOR WEB LAUNCH
Tuesday sees the first ever public launch of an F1 car on the web.

The Jaguar R4 will be revealed on the Yahoo! UK & Ireland site at 0800hrs and can be viewed by accessing: http://www.yahoo.co.uk/jaguarlaunch.

Jaguar spokesman Nav Sidhu said, “We originally took the decision to move away from a conventional launch because of the recent re-structuring programme within the team.

”This would have inevitably put added pressure on the company at what is already a very critical time for us as we gear up for the first race six weeks from now.

”Furthermore, we hope this will help broaden even further the appeal of F1, particularly in new markets such as the Middle East and China where we arrive for the first time from 2004 onwards.”

Industry observers could be forgiven for thinking that the move is yet another money-saving exercise for a team desperate to reduce costs.

That said, it marks a radical and exciting new approach to the launch format. And, it is not inconceivable that other teams may eventually follow suit.

The ‘launch’ is set to feature video interviews with the drivers and management, as well as footage of the car in testing.

And Australian Mark Webber (26) and Antonio Pizzonia (22), will specifically address their home fans with interviews about their respective home races and expectations for the season ahead.

The R4 received its first shakedown on Friday with a series of trouble-free straight line tests at the team’s private testing facility at Lommel.

Zelfde kleurschema, zelfde sponsors.....afgezien daarvan vind ik hem wel mooi afgerond, 'sexy'

Het wordt daarentegen wel niet te makkelijk direct een onderscheid te zien in de jags van 2000,2001, 2002 en 2003.

2002 was een rotseizoen voor Jaguar; wagen moest concurreren met de Minardi's en Irvine en De La Rosa waren lekker ingedut.
Wat hebben ze dan gedaan bij Jaguar ? De Ier en de Spanjaard vriendelijk buitengetrapt, Lauda aan de deur gezet (na Stewart en Rahal de zoveelste) en nog wat personeel de bons gegeven.

Brengt dit iets op ? Jaguar was in het tweede deel van het seizoen toch min of meer op de terugweg....,nu wordt die terugweg verstoord door de boel opnieuw overhoop te gooien. Het kan allemaal ineens klikken, maar die kans lijkt me klein.
Webber en Pizzonia, 2 onervaren coureurs in een problementeam....droomcombinatie ?

Ik heb die livery altijd al mooi gevonden! Sponsors zijn toch niet allemaal hetzelfde meer als vorig jaar: Beck's staat nog maar in het klein op, vorig jaar stond het op de plaats waar nu "all new XJ" staat.

Webber lijkt me anders net iets te lang

Ik vind de wagen er een stuk aggresiever uitzien en dat vind ik wel leuk! Damn die Webber is groot

Bij de weg: in de Bondfilm rijdt Zao (de slechterik) met die groene Jaguar...Jaguar: The bad guys !

In tegenstelling tot anderen vind ik de wagen er niet snel uitzien.
Het lijkt me eerder een logische doorontwikkeling van de wagen van vorig jaar, ... die toen al niet te snel ging. Toch lig ik qua aerodynamica bij Jaguar niet echt wakker, het is eerder de motor die grote stappen zal moeten gemaakt hebben.

Die foto's met die "Zao-jaguar" zijn waarschijnlijk deze die de voorbije week in Lommel zijn gemaakt.
Dat zie je duidelijk op F1-Live: als het om foto's gaat van de R4 op een piste met veel groen op de achtergrond .......... Lommel.
