ASM, Carlin, iSport en/of Team Essex (=John Nielsen) in DTM?

"My ideal scenario would be running a DTM team and an F3 Euroseries team," said team boss Trevor Carlin at last weekend's Zandvoort meeting.

"It's unlikely we'd do Euroseries without a DTM programme."

Leading members of GP2 team iSport also checked out DTM possibilities at Zandvoort, while sportscar legend John Nielsen is considering moving his Team Essex operation from the Danish Touring Car Championship to the DTM next year.

Een paar maanden geleden is Carlin ook al in verband gebracht met DTM.

Frentzen lijkt Audi te zullen verlaten.

A very disapointed Heinz-Harald Frentzen was very dissatisfied with his team after today's race at the Hockenheimring. The wrangle between him and the Audi team looks to be braking the two parties up.

Whereas Frentzen said previous to the race he would talk to Audi about their future together, after the race the German was less diplomatic. "I'm very disapointed now. Not only because of what happened with Mattias, with the way the race was going for me as well", he said.

"The timing of the pitstops were not good at all, where my teammates seemed to be favoured, and after that being pushed out of the race by a teammate", Frentzen continued. "The race today shows what my position in the team is and how popular I am with my teammates. I never really felt welcome in this team. I can't say now whether or not I will be in DTM next year, but I can say that i'm very dissapointed right now."

Dr Wolfgang Ullrich apprecieert niet echt dat Frentzen deze uitspraken op TV gemaakt heeft en ontkent dat Frentzen niet over gelijk materiaal zou beschikken. Er zal snel een beslissing genomen worden over de toekomst van Audi en Frentzen.

Ik zou graag McNish terug in een DTM wagen zien. Audi heeft begin dit jaar lang getwijfeld tussen McNish en Frentzen.

Ik gok er echter op dat Timo Scheider het 4de Abt zitje zal krijgen. Hij was dit jaar de beste jahres Audi rijder en bij Opel was hij ook al de beste piloot.

Een andere wilde gok zou Dirk Muller kunnen zijn. Audi zou hem gecontacteerd hebben omdat hij einde contract is bij BMW.

Ik vermoed ook dat Thed Bjork een kans zou kunnen krijgen met een jahreswagen. Hij zou Kaffer kunnen vervangen; Audi zou hem dan terug naar LMS kunnen sturen.

Ik zou graag zien dat Cristian Abt ontslagen (wegens brokkenpiloot en tijd om wat plaats te maken voor jong talent), maar dat lijkt niet echt realistisch o.w.v. zijn achternaam.

ik zie scheider wel naar abt gaan ! voor een 2007 wagen..
hij deed het echt goed dit seizoen met zijn 2005 audi !

Ekström, Scheider, Kristensen en Kaffer zouden ook met de prototypes rijden van audi..


ik vraag me trouwens af wat HHF volgend aar gaat doen.. mss ook eens mercedes proberen ?

en wat ik me ook afvraag.. waar zit Peter Dumbreck ???
toen hij voor HWA reed deed hij het goed, en toen hij naar opel kwam deed hij het ook meteen goed ! maar waar zit hij nu ?

DTM 2007, de aanloop......
Zo te zien mogen we een grote verandering (qua model) verwachten aan de zijde van MB:

Oei, die reglementen waren toch bevroren? Mag Audi dan ook een fikse aero-upate doorvoeren op de A4? Of laat de ITR wederom zien dat het een MB-kloon is?


O ja bevroren reglementen? Volgens Gerhard Ungar ( HWA hoofd engineer) viel dat best mee in 2006:

Ik begrijp niet waar je je druk over maakt. De DTM wagens moeten voldoende op de productiewagens lijken en bij Mercedes wordt de C klasse nu eenmaal vernieuwd...

Kan HWA / MB dan niet wat van de opgedane kennis van het afgelopen jaar meenemen in het nieuwe model? Dat zou Audi dan niet kunnen. Lijkt me dan toch niet helemaal eerlijk........

Volgens www.touringcartimes.com heeft John Nielsen/Team Essex Invest deelname met BMW aan DTC bevestigd. Dus DTM lijkt me hierbij uitgesloten.

@Admin: Is het niet logischer dat dit en het DTM 2007, de aanloop...... topic samengevoegd worden?
