Euro GT's 2006, the comeback!
Zoals jullie wellicht hebben gezien is er een banner actief van de Euro GT's op ons forum. Waarvoor onze dank aan de organisatie van de Euro GT's. Het laatste seizoen van deze serie was 2003, in 2004 kwam deze klasse eenmaal in actie tijdens de Marlboro Masters.

2006 gaat het jaar worden van de comeback van deze klasse.

Voor teams die eens aan de andere kant van de tafel willen zitten is dit een goede mogelijkheid:

• En nog een hele rits andere dingen
Hopenlijk pikken ze een race mee op Spa of Zolder, er zit altijd wel een exotische deelnemer tussen die je niet vaak ziet.

Aan de quotes te zien van enkele teams die interesse tonen zitten er ook enkele Belgen tussen

Je mag je afvragen of Nederland niet eens toe is aan een "eigen" GT-kampioenschap, met wat races over de landsgrenzen heen. Die Porsche Cup gaat niet echt lukken (understatement) en de aangekondigde uitbreiding met oudere Porsches zal niet brengen wat nodig is. Gooi de boel dan maar helemaal open en laat ook wat spannender auto's toe, oftewel, maak er een Nederlands GT-kampioenschap van. Het zal wel weer niet kunnen (alles kan, als je maar wil!) vanwege 'Zandvoortse belangen'. Dient men nu eigenlijk de autosport of slechts de eigen kas?

Als ze de regelementen nog een beetje soepel laten, en er kunnen veel teams zich niet vinden in de nieuwe belcar regeling....... mooie toekomst voor de euro GT...

Nou, dat is een beetje appels met peren vergelijken. Het DSC is een echte mix van "lichte" GT's en Toerismewagens. De Euro GT's mikken toch op de "zwaardere" GT's.

Op 04-02 zal er meer bekend worden over de Euro GT's. Via een aantal Duitse sites is te lezen dat de Euro GT's in Pierre van Mentlen (Swissracing ) een solide partner hebben gevonden.

Volgens de berichten staan er 7 weekends op het programma. De dikke jongens uit de Divinol-cup vertonen veel interesse in de Euro GT's. Lijkt erop dat het een verzameling dikke GT's gaat worden die een generatie ouder zijn.

Niet snel genoeg meer voor FIA GT, LMES e.d. kampioenschappen of die daarvoor geen homologatie hebben. De wagens zijn nog springlevend en de bijbehorende coureurs hebben nog geen zin in een nieuwe wagen.

Denk dat voor zo een programma zeker veel belangstelling gaat zijn, zelfs van enkele belcar-teams... Hopelijk worden het geen sprintraces ...

Gezien het verleden van de Euro GT's en de Divinolcup mag je dat eigenlijk wel verwachten. Max 60 minuten, geen tank- of bandenstops. Op die manier blijven de kosten beperkt.........

Ik vind het niet erg dat het 'sprintraces' gaan zijn. Niet alles moet endurance zijn, soms is close racing over een beperkte tijd ook wel 's fijn om te zien.

Zolang er ook maar iets van Mercedes Benz te bespeuren valt in de DTM zul je nooit iets van een V8Star daarin terug zien. Volgens mij is de schrijver van dat stukje niet helemaal op de hoogte van de geschiedenis van de V8Star. De beste man plakt zelfs merknamen onder de V8Stars op de foto's Dat durfde de V8Star-organisatie niet eens te doen.

Reglement Euro GT's 2006 V8Stars kunnen daar gewoon terecht in 2006.

Blijkt dat Pierre von/van Mentlen ook actief is in forumland. Op het forum van www.gt-eins.de doet hij enkele prettige uitspraken onder de nickname pvm. Er zelfs interesse van Italiaanse en Franse GT deelnemers

Kalender, 5 van de mogelijk 7 wedstrijden:

14.-16. april – Nürburgring (GTP)
12.-14. mei – Spa (LMS)
07.-09. juli – Zolder Super Prix (DSC, Britcar)
21.-23. juli – Eurospeedway (Belcar)
15.-17. september – Dijon (GTP)

Reglement ligt in de lijn van de FIA GT1, GT2 en GT3-klassen met her en der uitzonderingen om GT-wagens van een vorige generatie toe te laten. Of wagens die wel geschikt voor een van de GT-klassen maar niet beschikken over een FIA-homologatie.

Als die reglementen bijna 1 op 1 uitwisselbaar zijn ben ik benieuwd of we op de Lausitzring sommige wagens aan zowel Euro GT's en Belcar zien deelnemen. Piloot 1&2 in de Belcar...........en piloot 3 en/of 4 van de 24 uur van Zolder in als test in de Euro GT's.
