Sagius takes charge in crisis race - June 05, 2002

<http://escors.racesimcentral.com/ser...es_command.jpg> KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Raymond Sagius drove a commanding race at Kansas Speedway in the Kansas City 100 last weekend. He utterly dominated the proceedings by taking pole and running as leader flag to flag with no lead changes, even during the pitstops. However, his opponents made it easy for Sagius as there were no more than 6 consecutive green flag laps during the entire race.

The only challenge came from Denis Breznik, the young Pro-Eco charger who remained firmly in second for the duration of the race, but with so few green flag laps, didn't really have the opportunity to pass the now jubilant Sagius. With the pundits predictions now vindicated they will be looking to Sagius for more victories in the coming races. One pundit went as far to say: "Raymond displays the qualities that all, bar none, successful drivers display - patience and aggression at the right time in the right place. Considering the state of the opposition during that race, many of the other drivers should study Raymond's technique and get a grip."

The ever improving Bart van Nevel picked up third, non-regular Attila Lajko came home in forth and a new boy wily Brian Needham picked up fifth spot after a disastrous qualifying run. However, Attis Fardelin, Juhani Oksanen and Manos Kasapis who qualified in 3rd, 4th and 5th respectfully, all finished 12th, 10th and 16th respectfully after running into problems on the track, in the case of Attis and Manos, some of which could easily be avoided.

Because of the high number of incidents a number of drivers driving standards are now under investigation. "We are looking into the standards displayed at Kansas of a few of our drivers". Said Hirst, BallRacing European Challenge Series Director. "Those drivers we find against will be sidelined for at least one race, maybe two. We will provide provisional results for the races those drivers missed but we are confident that any race driver who finds himself without a race will do his utmost to get back in the running." That's not all, more new for the rookie series is that the management are looking into reintroducing Happy Hour in a bid encourage an overall improvement in driving standards. However, we can be certain that Hirst and Sagius won't rest until the ESCORS rookie series has the respect it justly deserves.
