Jan Heylen fabrieks piloot...
bij MERCEDES en wel voor vier jaar! Als dat geen goed nieuws is...
Volgens mij zit er toch iets speciaal hier in het Geels water  bron: janheylen.com Heylen - All The Way To Formula 1 Formula Ford Star Jan Heylen has ended 2003 on a very big high, rounding off a fabulous year in motor racing with a dream contract. Jan has signed a four year deal with Mercedes. The Tim Sugden managed young Belgian has continued his tremedous form since winning the Formula Ford Festival, with impressive tests in Formula 3 and Formula 3000. This has now resulted in him gaining the support of Mercedes to progress his career through F3 to F3000 and on to Formula 1 within four years. He will also have an option to take a detour into European Touring Cars. A brilliant Christmas present for Jan, and watch this space for further details his progress in 2003.

Ik ben zeer blij voor Jan, die ik op de RACB-awards even mocht ontmoeten en die me een zeer symphatieke jongen lijkt, en ook nog eens barst van het talent. En natuurlijk niet te vergeten : hij is de "poulain" van Marc Goossens... Zoals Marshal al zei : als die er niet komt, kunnen de andere Benelux-kandidaten zich al vragen beginnen te stellen...

is inderdaad prima nieuws voor Jan ....
Laat ons toch eventjes onze voetjes op de grond houden ... Er zijn inderdaad voorbeelden van mercedes-piloten die het tot in de F1-schoppen ... Maar er zijn er ook evenveel die er na een paar jaar terug uit liggen. airco

Blijft fantastisch voor Jan Heylen , en wat zeker een schitterende gedachte hierbij is : Jan heeft het vooral van zijn talent. Het grote geld heeft de familie helaas ook niet en daarom is dit extra motiverend voor alle beginnende piloten.

Hij wordt al beroemd
 , daarstraks een heel item om 17.45 op radio 1 over "Jantje". Autosport is blijkbaar alleen interessant als F1 er ergens te sprake komt.Maar laten we Jan eerst maar es zichzelf laten zijn en nog niet gaan beginnen praten over F1. Eerst stappen en dan lopen..... Succes in F3 !! (Kijken of ze van de radio of TV dat ook op de voet volgen?  )
