Pizzonia out?
Het lijkt er sterk op volgens autosport.com (bericht ook te vinden op andere sites):
Pizzonia's future at Jaguar isn't looking good Jaguar has admitted that it will drop rookie driver Antonio Pizzonia unless he dramatically improves his form at the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix. The Brazilian has struggled to find form since making his debut this season, especially when compared to the impressive performance of team-mate Mark Webber. "I don't think it is a great secret that Antonio's position is under review," Nav Sidhu, Jaguar's communications and public affairs manager told The Guardian. "There are a lot of things about his performance so far this year that are causing us concern. The level of disparity between his performance and those of his team-mate Mark Webber is alarming." Sidhu said that the team will try to help him raise his form. "We are going to work through a structured programme with him," he said. "If he can climb the same hill as Webber then we're going to be happy with him." Austrian Alex Wurz has emerged as the favourite to replace the Brazilian. Wurz not only has vast experience of a front-running team from his two and-a-half year stint testing for McLaren, but he is also a similar height to Webber. His chances of racing for Jaguar depend on whether Ron Dennis would be willing to release him from his contract, especially as the team nears the test debut of its new MP4-18A.

Niet echt fijn voor onze Pizza !
Valt wel op dat er in F1 geen sprake kan zijn van een 'leerproces'. Direct vanin het begin moeten die kerels presteren, anders kunnen ze terug hun testrol opnemen.

Het schijnt dat ene halve nederlander/belg tegen bepaalde journalisten uit belgie iets heeft gezegd over........'t kon weleens groen worden. Tja de "ford-link" is aanwezig...........

Tja, vroeger kreeg een rookie nog een seizoen om de job te leren, vandaag de dag lig je er na een koers of 4 al uit...
Eventuele "laatbloeiers" zullen we niet meer ontdekken vrees ik...

Het is allemaal veel te commercieel geworden. De enige manier om lang in de F1 te kunnen rijden zonder resultaten neer te zetten is veel geld meenemen en gaan rijden voor de 'arme' teams.
De World Series zouden eventueel een ideale poel voor jong talent of laatbloeiers kunnen worden. Afwachten wat het dit weekend gaat geven.

't zit er dik in dat Pizzonia door Alexander Wurz vervangen wordt. Enkel een weigering van McLaren zou de zaak nog kunnen stoppen, melden f1racing.nl en f1-live.com. Maar dat lijkt me onwaarschijnlijk, aangezien zij best wel met De La Rosa verder kunnen.
Wurz er weer in ? Waarom ook niet....wie weet heeft hij bij McLaren wat geleerd na die zovele testkilometers. En de Jaguar hoort zeker al niet meer thuis op de laatste startplaats, getuige daarvan een ontketende Webber die 2 keer op rij 5des wist te starten (maar nog altijd geen punten kon scoren)
