Via een ' press release '' liet het Red Bull Junior F3000 team weten dat Patrick Friesacher niet zal starten in zijn thuis grand prix. Rare situatie daar Friesacher geld als één van de snelste F3000 piloten. Hij word vervangen door een andere onbekende landgenoot Bernhard Auinger.

Zijn vervanger Bernard Auinger heb ik vorig weekend in Adria aan het werk gezien in de F3 Euroseries waar hij in de zondag race vierde werd met zijn Dallara-Toyota van TME.
Hij zal 2 of 3 races invaller zijn voor Friesacher. Ze zijn beiden Red Bull piloten, vandaar dat ze hem genomen hebben.
