Sprinters Cup Zolder
Winst voor Tony Frans na brute pech van Tony Kevers Pole voor de VW Golf van Tony Kevers, maar door een lekke koppakking bleef de leider in de tussenstand in de box toen de nationale driekleur viel voor de derde manche in de Sprinters Cup Zolder. De BMW M3 van Dierckx schoot het snelst uit de startblokken, maar moest het commando reeds snel overlaten aan de Golf van Tony Frans. Ook Rudy Janssen reed een behoorlijke wedstrijd en parkeerde zijn Renault Megane als derde op het ereschavot. Een gesmaakt duel kregen we te zien tussen de de Mazdas MX5 van Werner Van Herck en Raf Lemmens voor de zesde plaats. Pech voor Van Der Sluis die een verwittiging kreeg door geluidsoverlast. Door de afwezigheid van Lebeau en François was Peter Govaerts de enige Lotus Elanrijder die bij de Classic Cars voor vuurwerk kon zorgen. En dat deed hij ook. Vertrokken vanop een teleurstellende 20ste plaats baande Govaerts zich een weg door het peloton, maar produceerde teveel decibels en kreeg een verwittiging op het moment dat hij in tweede stelling toefde. De Lotus werd nog vijfde algemeen en eerste Classic, voor Corry DHooge en John Vandevenne, waardoor de TVR-rijder aan de leiding blijft bij de Classic Cars. TOP 10 1. FRANS VW GOLF 2.
